Finding it tough

My 17mo just clonked me, pretty hard, on the head with his miracle cup. It really hurt! I said "oww! Poor mummy, you shouldn't do that". Before opening the fridge door and crying behind it sadl don't know if he did it on purpose, he may have done, he has a tendency to lob it and I was kneeling in front of him cleaning the floor. Parenting is way harder than I thought! We have been up since 4:50am, he won't stop crying and whinging and he won't eat anything except snack food. He still screams his head off every time I change his nappy, like beyond ridiculous. It's so hard to keep calm and keep going sometimes isn't it sad

My 18 mth old just did the same with a book and my four year old twins have been arguing all afternoon. I also cried today. You're not alone

You sound worn out, remember the good days to get through the hard days x

To make things easier let him eat what he wants to today.

He wouldn't have meant to hurt you - you will be is absolute world.

I've had a cry today as I'm 37 weeks pregnant and I'm overwhelmed with tidying the house and looking after dd (3) who is actually very good but I keep snapping st her for doing three year old kinda shit.

It will get easier I promise you.

Is there any one you can drop him off with so you can have break

Thanks lovely peeps. Sorry to hear other mums out there crying today but cheers for the solidarity! It's helpful. I hope it gets easier, he's very 'high needs' and he's sort of been like this since he was born. He's lovely but the whinging is draining. My MIL normally has him but she's been away so no support and I think I've really felt it x

Bubspub I know exactly how you feel. My 13 month old just whinges and cries all day long, won't nap even though he's shattered from being up from 5 every morning, goes mad when you try and do his nappy or dress him, won't let me prepare any food or do anything - just seeks me out and whinges at me and is so hit and miss with eating (hates being in the high chair). He was so placid and then something just changed at 9 months and he's been like this since.
I actually started working part time about a month ago as I just needed a break from him and the whinging! I have a 2 yr old as well which makes it extra hard.
So solidarity all the way here - people keep saying he just wants to walk and do what his sister is doing and will be much better when he can so I'm just praying and keeping my fingers crossed because at the minute I just end up wishing these days away when I really want to enjoy them being so young.

Bless you both, thank you. C737 our babies sound very similar! Except my boy has been like this from the beginning. He was the loudest baby in the hospital ward, the nurses came down and closed the ward door to drown him out sadI do think that certain milestones, like walking and talking, help to reduce their frustration and I've seen some improvement. But totally empathise with the work thing, I'm back part time and it's a relief to have some time away from him. I think that might be difficult for people with a contented baby to understand but I've found it a relief. Thanks so much for the solidarity and hope all our situations improve x X
