18 month old's bleeding gums!

Apologies if this has been posted in the wrong place but I'm just wondering if anyone has had any experience of this? We are very thorough with teeth brushing, we have to restrain our DC at the mo but they do get a two minute brush twice a day. Sometimes it's a little blood, sometimes the brush is bright red afterwards. Had a little look tonight and it seems to be coming from the gumline of her bottom four teeth, there was a minuscule dot of blood. Don't think it's teething related as it's from the gums of her existing teeth. She was seen by a dentist last week and they said everything looked fine, although I am going to take her back next week would they have picked up any potential problems at that check up? Or is this something to go to the GP about? The toothbrush we use is a 0-2 one with very soft bristles and I doubt I'm pressing too hard.

Way too harsh, a two minute brush twice a day! Don't force it, give the brush to her to chew on then gently finish it for her.

Oh gosh do you think so? I feel terrible now! That's what was advised by my dentist Do you think that could be what's causing the bleeding?

SotryI didn't mean to make you feel bad, I'd take her back to the dentist for a check up, mention the bleeding just to be on the safe side.
My dentist gave me the advice I gave to you, I used to take my girls with me when I had check ups, they'd sit on my knee while I was in the chair, he would then 'count baby's teeth'. This then progressed to letting them hold a baby toothbrush. When she's a little older there are some good videos on you tube she can watch, they make tooth brushing fun.
I can't brush my own teeth for two minutes, the sink would resemble a crime scene.

Ah no don't be! Feeling a bit sensitive about the whole thing tonight, I'm a bit obsessive with stuff like this and I like to know I'm doing the right thing the right way I'm a complete control freak. There's so much conflicting information about it as well, I've been told everything from 30 seconds to two minutes to just let them chew the brush! Will definitely take her back next week, thanks for the advice.

Kudos to you for holding her down for two minutes, lol. I had kids made of slippery stuff, they'd slide out of my grasp, wriggle and fidget and I ended up a sweaty mess.

To be fair she's a tiny little thing so I just wrap her up in a big blanket if Moody's here to help 🙊 Nightmare fuel I'm sure! You can't do right for doing wrong 😂
