Bouncer/chair for big baby

Hi,

My son is 16 weeks old and 17lbs. He's coming up to the 9kg weight limit on his bouncer and getting too long for it as well but is nowhere near being able to sit yet.

Does anyone have any ideas of a bouncer for the heavier baby? Grin he has a jumperoo but I was after something he can relax in while I do a bit if housework. Thanks

I need ideas too! Hard work. I used to have a fisher price infant to toddler rocker but my DS tipped it while well within in the weight limit so swiftly got rid and won't use one for DD.

Babybjorn balance? It does say the weight limit is 9kg but I definitely had DD2 in it when she was heavier than that and it was fine. She was short though so maybe a taller baby wouldn't fit.

What about a bumbo (DDs hated it but many babies like it) or a sitting "nest" like the Galt playnest?

Might a beanbag work, if you have one available?

That's a great idea about the nest Minipie! I'll probably get one of those. Thanks Smile

No probs Smile. My advice is look for a second hand one as they're only used for a short period till they can sit up!

Jane Evolution make chairs/rockers with a high weight limit. We bought ours second hand off ebay, covers are removeable and Ive machine washed them. DS never tipped it and is a 98th centile lump. The best weight limit I found was the Nuna Leaf and out of desperation and pnd I bought it. DS is nearly 2 now and sits in it to drink his evening milk and have stories.

I found the mamas and papas snug much better than the traditional bumbo - I had a big DS and found that bumbo better for fitting his legs in, and it lasts longer as it has an insert you can remove. And I felt it safer and less likely to tip over than the bumbo. Also found the galt nest great, add a few toys or ball pool balls.

The Nuna leaf takes up to 60kg! That's heavier than me.

What about a baby to toddler chair. I bought one for my nephew as he was huge and still using it now 16 months old.

In hindsight I was out of my tree buying the bloody thing but we do still use it and I plan on selling it on. Everything else we bought was second hand. Wish I only weighed 60kg though!
