Two very tricky questions

1. Is it odd that my daughter is 4 and a half, and in night nappies? She potty trained herself at just over 2 with day time nappies.
2. My au pair has just left (hooray!). So we have a room for my 6 year old son to move into. It has an existing queen size bed. I feel weird about getting rid of the bed but also feel odd about 6 year old having a double bed...?

1 totally within the normal range - not being dry at night isn't considered to be a 'problem' till they're 7. (And at that age it's still not uncommon)

2 I'm not sure why you'd feel odd about either option. If it's that you don't like getting rid of a good bed, you can donate it to some charities eg Emmaus. Maybe you should ask your DS if he'd prefer a big bed or more floorspace to play on - it's going to be his room after all.

1) My dd (4+10) isn't dry at night either. She is a VERY deep sleeper so doesn't wake to go, but does still wake and climb in with us. She's in pull ups currently as lifting her didn't work and I don't want my bed weeing on. Once she either wakes up dry or stays in her own bed consistently I'll give night training a go.

2) I'd change the bed for toy space reasons.

When I was small I slept in a double bed by myself. Not seeing an issue.
2x my DC weren't dry at night until 6yo or older, so pretty normal for us.

No being dry at night at 4 is well within normal.

If you want to keep the queen size bed then go for it. I would dump a decent bed just for the sake off it.

1 - normal

2 - I wouldn't worry about letting him sleep in a big bed. However, I do think that if you get rid of it, there will much more space in the room, so it is probably a worthy option still?
