How do you stop yourself from running away from it all?

Just that really.

When it's all getting too much how do you convince yourself to stay and carry on?

I've suffered from depression and anxiety off and on since dc3 was born 18m ago. Largely I've come through it I'm back at work and have more good than bad times, but the bad times are becoming really really bad times. I just want to run away from everything and everyone. I can't stand to be near my children (how awful for a mother to say) I found myself looking at nearby hotels to stay in for a few nights.
My dh is great but he works very long hours and often away in the week, he knows I'm struggling and does as much as he can.

I've had enough Sad

I have 11 kids and the key for me is they all go to bed at reasonable times and sleep through the night! I know there is an end to the day. And if it's a particular off day then tea /shower /bed is a bit earlier!. Always make sure u have 'u' time every day.. My time is maybe coffee with the crossword or a walk on the beach with the dogs. Just a little window for me. It helps a lot.

short term - headphones for those times the noise is too much but must maintain

book a night at that hotel for when your OH can cover and go

long term - outsourcing, planning and management - treat it like a job with a schedule, meetings, employees and time off - in my more frantic times I have got a gigantic diary and planned right down to meals and school bags packed waiting by the door the night before - having systems in place takes the pressure off and helps it all flow.

Missg - eleven dc???!!
