I pay £5 ph for the local teenager with moderate experience of a younger sibling. Tbf with your childminder, that's not her hourly wage because she has more children at a time.

How old is your childminder?

I think £7 is justifiable for a 16yo

Standard for an unqualified but sensible teenager round here (Wilts) is £5 per hour, plus fizzy drinks, crisps and lift home at end.

I pay £5 per hour to teen for random jobs such as laundry and mowing the lawn. For babysitting though I only pay them £15 for the evening say 7-11 so a bit less but the dc are in bed. Teen are aged 14-16.
£7 an hour is a lot I think.

I also give a lift home .

I pay £7 an hour for someone who used to work in the nursery my kids went to. I think that's pretty reasonable as she has childcare qualifications.

My dd is 16, has lots of experience with kids. She does babysitting (daytime and evening) so the children aren't always asleep. She charges £5 per hour, take her own food and drink and usually uses us as a taxi.

I pay a minimum of £10 regardless of time, (ie just an hour) if we are more than 3 hours its £20 for the night.
When she has had more than my 2, she had my SIL so 5 children in total I paid her £30

I want to pay her well enough she doesn't want let us down last minute and know she is appreciated

That's cheap, no one I know pays less than £10 an hour.

I did babysitting up until I had my own baby last year and would generally get £20 for an evening up until about 1am.
I haven't used a babysitter yet but I think I would expect it to be between £5-£10 p/h round here depending on how long/late etc.
