My DS has just turned 1 and for a while now has had a massive preference for his dad. Will often resist coming to me if DH is holding him, and only ever wants to be picked up/held by him. I don't feel that DS has ever been particularly attached to me which used to trouble me but this obsession with his dad is making it worse! And no, it's not because DH is at work and I'm home all the time as I work 4 days a week as well. My first was stuck to me like glue for a lot of her first year so I kinda feel like a bit of a spare part with my DS. It's getting me down a bit and I have no idea how to deal with it/if there's anything I can do but wait it out? I've tried putting the 'I'm not bothered' on but i'm not sure if it's working anymore!
Has this happened to anyone else?! If so, can you offer me some wise words of comfort that he won't still be scrabbling to get away from me when he's 21 2?

This happened to me with my 1st . All my doing . We had him I freaked out while daddy was very calm and brilliant .. I took a good 7/8 months to adjust but by then . Daddy had won him over . He's 5 nearly 6 now and a total mummies boy .. We have a fantastic relationship . It did break my heart while I was being rejected .. My second didn't do the same but I knew what to expect so having a new born didn't send me bat shit crazy ..
I can say after a while we started to make him see daddy give me a cuddle and lots of . Awww we love mummy .. It kind of brought me back into the loop xx

Oh and swimming . I used to take him swimming so that he had to be close to me . Just him and me . I'd let him lead and splash me and play silly games . Then i would buy us something nice from the canteen after . I was trying to buy him . He was better with Me for the next 24 hours then things would slope back and we would go again . It did build foundations though x
