Does it get any easier? Left my 6m baby last night and done first night shift... Came home and cried my eyes out for good hour Sad (he's at babysitters today) ... Can't afford not to work so that's not an option ... But I feel like my heart is breaking a little bit.

Flowers for you. I went back to work part time when our little one was 6 weeks and it was pretty gutting, but it does get easier! As long as I knew she was happy, I could actually enjoy the easy work of being in an office! I took it as mental rest so I could be more present when I was with baby. be gentle on yourself, your wee one will grow and you can chat about your days and share lots of wonderful moments

It definitely gets better Flowers I've always worked FT after short (6 months) maternity leaves and there's nothing better than coming home after a rewarding day at work to see the DC. I'm currently out of work and I miss it loads!!

Flowers I left the house for my first shift back when DD was 7 months and just sat in the car and cried and cried. It does get better though honest. Just wait until you see his little face light up when you pick him up.

Dd is 2.8. She's been in nursery since she was 6 months old. I still find it hard to look at the photos from her first 6 months there as sometimes she looked really tired (but never unhappy). It might be a challenge until your lo drops their late afternoon cat nap, but you'll get there. You will also have to ride out the illnesses, but if not now, you'd have to do it when they start school!

If you have faith in your care setting then all will be fine. Dd loves nursery. She is confident, caring and happy. Ds will start when he turns 6 months in 2 months time.
