My three year old DD is obsessed with my boobs!!!

Help! My DD is constantly tugging, scrunching and seeking my boobs, for comfort and sometimes, just for fun. I stopped breastfeeding two years ago!! I wouldn't mind but they are actually feeling quite bruised!! Does anyone else's child do this? How can I gently dissuade her from grabbing and scrabbling them so often without hurting her feelings...I am pretty sure it is mainly a comfort thing. Also, she is waking in the night and asking for "booby" every night and won't go to sleep until she has had a cuddle with them. I presume other children have teddies and pieces of blanket whereas my children have chosen my body parts! (My other DD strokes a mole on my arm for comfort and has done since she was tiny.) Are we just all weird in my family or do other people experience the same thing with their children?

Thankfully she only does this in private. I suppose that is something!!!

You're not pregnant are you? My son started doing this when I got pregnant!

Grin I think it's really cute but I'm probably a bit weird actually!

The things we do as parents!

Mine is similar. I don't have an answer, but you're not alone!

Aw, you've reminded me that one of my dds went through a phase like this when she was around the same age Smile . Not the grabbing and bruising though Shock , you'll have to put a stop to that!! But my dd loved to snuggle up to mine and she also used to put a hand down my top when we were cuddling and just kind of let her hand rest there between my breasts. It was a comfort thing, though I had only breastfed to six months so I don't think it was directly related to that. Breasts are maternal by definition though, so it's not surprising that they'd be a source of comfort and that small children would seek them out.

I loved the intimacy of it, I miss that sleepy snuggly closeness now that they're older and I'm lucky to get a fleeting kiss before they're out the door again!

I do remember a few times having to tell dd at three or four that I didn't like something she was doing (pinching or something), and it was my body so I got to decide. She was able to understand that at that age and teaching boundaries and consent is important. So I would tell your dd what hurts and that she can't do that anymore, but if the more gentle cuddling is at all pleasant for you, it's not weird at all. Enjoy it while it lasts.

My cousin was obsessed with my aunts nose! He would caress it and sing to it and cover it with kisses until he fell asleep. Any imput from the owner of the nose was strongly discouraged. He doesn't do it as an adult, but I'm not sure about the intermediate steps...

Thank you everyone. To be honest, I'm only complaining because today they do feel particularly sore from all the squeezing!!Grin in truth, it is quite sweet. And I suppose she won't do it forever (one hopes!) and yes, perhaps I just need to be stricter about not being so rough with them! Anyway, it's nice to know we're not alone!
