3.5 ds not interested in his new sister

He was excited at first but now just gets annoyed with her and barely takes and interest. He just looks hurt. I feel so guilty! I know it is probably normal as newborns not interesting to lively little boys. Anyone else find this - does it get better?

My Ds was a similar age and found his brother very boring at first as he "didn't do anything". They are now very close and devoted to each other.

Thats nice to hear as he was excited when i was pregnant but not now! I guess when baby starts smiling and interacting it might help.

Babies are totally boring to 3.5 year olds. They don't do anything. Don't worry, everything will change when she starts moving about and taking his toys!

Just leave it, make sure you have plenty of time with him (during which you ignore the baby as much as possible) and let time take its course.

My DD1 (nearly 6) is only just becoming a bit more interested now that DD2 is nearly 6 months and laughs at her silly dances! Before that she definitely considered her a nuisance, despite banging on about wanting to be a big sister since she was 4...
