From birth my blue twin was always more difficult than my pink twin. He would cry more, be sick all the time, refuse to be put down etc. I now think that the poor baby was suffering from silent reflux. Anyway at 4 months old he started with actual reflux (really smelly cottage cheese sick). We tried gaviscon and ranitidine and we are now on omeprazole. From being 3-6 months he slept through the night. Then at Christmas he was ill and hasn't slept through since.
In the past 2 months he wakes screaming the house down. I pick him up and he thrashes around like mad until eventually doing some really painful trumps and then eventually he will settle again.
We paid privately to see a paed GI specialist who prescribed the omeprazole and said that the pain was because his reflux isn't under control.
If you've read this far I thank you.
My question is does anyone else's baby suffer from reflux and trapped bottom wind? Is there a link between the two and what can I do about it? Ive tried infacol, massage, cycling legs, staying upright after feeds. DS is 11 months old and breastfed. Thank you x
