Baby poo question

My LO is 16 weeks on Monday, he normally has a poo every few days except this time it has been over a week since he last opened his bowels. It doesn't seem to actually be bothering him though. He's not crying, straining, pulling his legs up or showing any signs of distress whatsoever. He is bottle fed and i know babies that are do seem to poo less frequently but it seems a long time. Not sure whether or not to book a doctors appointment anyway even though he isn't upset by it. Has anyone else had the same thing? Any thing i can give him at home rather then the doctor giving laxatives?

If LO was a little older, I would suggest orange juice or a few bran flakes or even some baked beans, but because LO is only 16 weeks, I would go see your GP or nurse and see what they suggest.

they will most likely prescribe lactulose which can cause gripy tummy pains i treated mine with brown sugar and boiled water worked kind of fast though

my bottle fed baby needed to poo everyday ended up on allsorts only really stopped when he was 12 months old and on regular solids no milk suited him
