Hello - I'm thinking of sending my 2 and half year old son to this nursery but wanted to get some advice on thei nursery as don't know too much about it. I'm hoping for a nursery that will prep for the 4 plus and I'm hoping he will eventually sit the 5 plus at Habs boys. Thank you very much.

Hi Puravida99 - my DD is at Whizz Kids. She started there in Oct 2015 when she was 2 years and 3 months. She loves it there and I am very happy more than happy with the move! I was highly recommended the nursery by a friend and would do the same. I am hoping my DD with sit the 4+ at NLCS, Habs Girls and St Helens.

this place prepares your child for school by having a structured day and introducing topics and activities that happen in primary school. e.g. they have uniform, they do regular "show and tell"

the owner had DC (now all grown up) at a local private school. the owner knows what goes into 4+ assessments, but they do not "prep" or "tutor" for 4+.
if you want them to get into the top schools, then that is down to the child to be born with that "X" factor and to perform well during the assessment. you can not drill that (tutoring/preping) into them at an early age.

i did like how they taught the children and how they involved the parents in the nursery by inviting them in and also arranging a class list so that parents can make contact with each other. the teaching staff were very caring, but still teacher like.

i think every child in my child's batch at whizz kid went on to a private school. so you can imagine what kind of parents you will meet there. e.g. designer sunglasses driving a SUV/flash car, thinking they are above everyone else.

if you live in valencia/glanleam/canons or have been regularly listed on the sunday times rich list then every parent wants to know you.

personally i steered cleared of parents who flaunted their wealth/social status (normally those with big egos) and those that flocked around those who flaunted it.

parking is a hassle during pickup and collection as it's on a narrow road behind apex corner
