Sleeping in pushchair part of pram overnight

My LB (9mo) gets up every 1-2 hours and always has with a handful of exceptions. We have realised however that we can get 4 hours if he is in his pushchair part of pram. When he wakes up in cot he can be hysterical then placing him the pram - without even moving it - is enough to put him straight to sleep.

A HV said today in passing that we should maybe let him sleep a few nights in the pram to break the habit of waking but I'm worried about this. I feel I must have picked her up wrong??

My question is - is it dangerous or am I being paranoid?

He goes down in the cot really easily when we first put him to sleep. We are going slowly mad so all help hugely appreciated X

What pram have you got? Do you mean sleeping in a carseat or a lie down flat pram

Is it totally flat? I wouldn't if his head was slumped in any way.

The buggy part of the silver cross way farer. He's not slumped but not totally flat. Head and feet slightly raised ...

I used to pop my daughter in the pram for a few hours in the morning and she was fine

I wouldn't. That's not what it's designed for.

I would try it for a few nights. Maybe he has reflux and being propped up a bit is more comfy?

Have you tried them sleeping in your bed? You could get a whole nights sleep better then.
Start them out in cot and bring in your bed when they wake. In a few months once your all better rested you can encourage them to resettle in their cot if you want

Also have you tried just taking their cot mattress out and putting it on the floor for them to sleep. Many seem to hate the cot bars but sleep better without. All they can do is crawl or roll onto floor so no danger as already on floor

He has reflux and is being medicated for it.

He sleeps in the pram for naps which I don't mind, it's just the whole night I'm worried about.

He won't sleep in our at all. We've tried and tried! Thanks all for your replies.

Have you tried raising his mattress a bit so he's not completely flat?

Go with your instinct, if something is telling you no, dont do it.

Personally I wouldn't, but you need to weigh up risk and benefit.

I would try to recreate what it is he likes about the pushchair in his cot. Eg does he like feeling more snug and enclosed...try a sleeping bag or rolled up blankets under his sheet either side of his body. Does he like being on a slight recline...try raining the top of his cot etc etc. might be a bit of trial and error but you might find something that works.
