Going off sick with PND after maternity leave

So my GP had signed me off today for 4 weeks and it's likely she'll sign me off again in another 4 weeks too. I work for a national retail company so quite a big organisation. My DH is worried that they won't pay me at all if I'm off sick straight after mat leave. I think I should get some full pay but at the very least I'll be entitled to stat sick pay. I know my boss won't be happy at all that im not returning straight away. Just after others who have been through similar and what your experience was like with your employer? Did you get paid? Was your employer supportive or make it difficult for you?

I don't know but bumping it for you, probably CAB or ACAS would be able to offer you some advice? From my own personal PND experience going back to work actually really helped, as it was a distraction from the anxiety of looking after Ds, but obviously I don't know your circumstances so that may not be the case at all. I hope you start to feel better soon x

I'm quite happy to be at home I can go days without getting dressed (bath and clean pj's every day) my anxiety and panic comes from having to go out and deal with the rest of the world

The maternity policy for my employer states I will not be entitled to any (stat or enhanced) sick pay for 13 weeks following maternity leave so your DH may well be right. Have a look at your employer's maternity or time off work policies.

I think my employers would be supportive.... But they wouldn't pay me.
