Would you put petite 3 month old in a pushchair for 6 months+ ?

The pushchair is an Uppababy Vista. DD is 3 months and absolutely hates the infant carrycot attachment and screams every time I put her in. Tried her in the other attachment for 6 months + and she loved it. Beamed at me for ages then slept for over an hour. Is there any harm me putting her in it early? Would love to be able to take her for walks.

No, not really.

It probably won't lie as flat as those sold for younger babies, but if she's comfy and you're sure the straps aren't digging in anywhere they shouldn't, it's fine.

Thank you ! Just looking for reassurance I guess :)

I would in the situation you described. In fact I did similar with da when he outgrew the baby bit of the Phil and Teds. I bought a headhugger thing from tkmaxx and just made sure he wasn't in it for very long stretches.

We moved over at 4 months for similar reasons

I put my DD in the Vista at 3 months using an infant support thing for the same reason. It was this thing.

I'm going to remember this thread, also have a vista, but at a week old she is still content in the carrycot.

With the support in it looks as if they would be as supported as in a car seat, I would just be wary as to the length of time she is not flat in the same way as a car seat.

The infant snug has a wedge thing which means they aren't wedged in as far as a car seat and are fairly flat when it's reclined

I put my DS in the 6m+ bit at 6 weeks as he hated the carrycot. He was big (91st centile) and fitted in fine with straps done up tight and reclined back.

Otherwise, try a sling. DS is not a lover of buggies even at 16mo but will generally be happy in a sling unless he is desperate to walk.

I have an uppababy vista and put ds in it at 4 months. You can buy a snug made by uppababy for it. It is brilliant and has a wedge to support the back and a donut type ring to support head. I felt comfortable putting baby in it as long as seat was reclined a bit so he didn't have to hold head up by himself.

I would with the infant snug. We have a vista and due to the fabric it's quite easy for the baby to slip about. My 14 week old DD2 is in the toddler seat with the insert (went in the carry cot 3 times and hated it!). Bizarrely, DD1 was more than happy in the carry cot until 6 months.

With one of those inserts to support the head, I would. We moved DD to a pushchair (Maclaren Techno XLR with an infant insert) at 3mo as she too hated lying flat and wanted to see the world.

I did, with the insert for the vista, for similar reasons.

Wittery I loved pushing DD1 round in the carry cot, I was really sad that DD2 hated it!

Thanks all, especially for the snug seat link. We have a sheepskin liner but we had better use the snug seat until she's a bit bigger.

Sorry to hijack your thread but can I ask if you're all happy with the uppababy vista?

I'm expecting ds2 in December and think I've decided on this pram as the double (ds1 will be 21months)

Thanks

Like I said we are only on day 9 but so far I love the vista. We are using the carrycot as a day bed so when she goes out in it it smells familiar to her.
I love how manovable the buggy is and the size of the basket.

Yes love our vista. Have a bugaboo too and much prefer the vista.

I have a Vista and the snug seat insert thingy. DD1 went into the seat/insert around 12/14 wks because she cried every time in the bassinet. I think she could't see enough. DD2 went into the seat/insert straight away because DD1 was in the rumbleseat which does fit on with the bassinet.
