What do your toddlers obsess about?

Mine is only 15 months but in the last few weeks has developed an obsession with shoes. She toddles around looking for "shuz", hands me my shoes, my husband his, and WANTS her shoes on at all times (I like to keep them for outdoor only!). We've had tantrums over taking shoes off for bed and bath! "Shuz" is one of her very few words too!

Mine loves dogs. And pushing her pram. Major rage if we try and go somewhere without the pram...

Mine is currently into wiping. She loves to wipe and deliberately spills things so she can have a cloth to wipe with!

Not sure if DS is still classed as a toddler at 3 1/2 but he is totally obsessed with mister maker, especially the shapes. I bought him a set of shape toys for his birthday last year, and he will spend hours reciting the script "now mini makers, it's time to get some things from the doodle drawers - be careful, scissors are sharp- it's time to put the shapes back in my marvellous maker case"!!

Shoes here too he has been crazy about them since he could crawl so we are 1yr in and counting.
We make a big thing of taking them off at the door and leaving them neat.
But when he was younger we had some inside wellies so he could learn to take the on amf off himself which he enjoyed.

17 months and loves doing up straps... will sit in the high chair/buggy for ages doing up the clips. Easy entertainment!

The buggy. My nanny child has developed an obsession with it 15months as well and she just likes to sit in it or hold onto the side and say "buggybuggybuggy" while wiggling her bum. I leave her to it because it's really cute.

Should also add my other nanny child is 16months and the little weirdo is obsessed with toes, which his mum and I find hilarious. When I get in in the morning and take off my shoes he crawls over and rests his head on my feet and talks to my toes. He has today started to try and lick them though which I am putting a stop to as I think that's a step too far.

When DS was about 1.5 - 2 it was doors. All the way to nursery every day, he'd point out every door we passed. There were a lot.

I was so pleased when he learned colours and we got a bit of variety. Grin

Pointlessfan my DS is very into.wiping as well, little devil will tip his cup over just so he can wipe it up!

He is obsessed with Peppa. Like really obsessed. If he sees anything Peppa related while we are out (kids in tshirts with Peppa on or toys etc) he shouts "Peppa!" over and over.

He also loves stones (we have a gravel driveway) so whenever we leave the house he picks up a stone and takes it with him. He will carry his stone around all day. So weird.

I'm hoping the wiping phase will last actually, the kitchen floor is the cleanest it's ever been!

mine went through a phase at 20 months of being absolutely obsessed with the lawn mower. we had to go and look at it in the shed 20 times a day and then we bought him his own to push round the garden!!!

DS is obsessed with cars. Not so much random cars in the street, or toy cars (though he does like those), but cars belonging to people he knows. If I tell him we are visiting someone, or someone is coming to visit us, he talks non-stop about their car - is it big or little, what colour is it? Then when they/ we arrive, he totally ignores the actual person and just says hello to their car repeatedly: "hello George big car", "hello Mary little car" etc.

Cute but has being going on for some time now!

Mines a bit older at 3 but is currently very concerned about lorry drivers - every lorry we see has to be checked to make sure there's 'a little step for the man to get out' Confused

19 month old here:

Planes
Going in a car
Grandad
Our Cat
Shoes
His summer hat
The bath
"Gulk" (boob milk)

Sometimes interest wanes in one but mostly we have excitement and/or tears about each of these things on a daily basis.

All stopped breastmilk an ongoing obsession here too- all these stories remind me DD has interests other than shoes. Breastmilk is "danda" here!

Ds 22 months it's dinoosaurs, dogs, twirlywoos and saying hiya to EVERYONE. It's very cute. We bought him a dinosaur t-shirt but when we put it on him he cries because he can't see the picture properly!
