and corporal punishment?

Mine just did and I wondered if this was a normal response to hearing the news?

Of course! Unless of course I was a pro-smacking parent too...

Yes it would.

Sleepingbunnies Tue 07-Jul-15 20:20:44

Yes mine does.

TRexingInAsda Tue 07-Jul-15 20:21:26

Nope.

What do you mean by corporal punishment? I don't think any of us have the right to judge the way others parent/discipline their children.
Has your opinion of someone changed or has someone's opinion of you changed?

I don't think I've ever come across anyone pro smacking. I can think of several friends who've smacked in extremis or out of fear, but as a one off, not systematically.

No I just found out someone said the equivalent of ' the kids of today have no respect, because they are not smacked enough'

I always thought they were quite reasonable till then

Yes

bobajob Tue 07-Jul-15 20:24:47

Of course, anyone who chooses to hit children is a shit.

RiverTam Tue 07-Jul-15 20:26:17

Yes. And I say that as someone who has smacked her child once, I have never been more ashamed of myself.

BertrandRussell Tue 07-Jul-15 20:28:29

Yep. And I have smacked. But I was wrong. And I knew it at the time.u

MrsKCastle Tue 07-Jul-15 20:33:47

Yes.

Yes. Why would anyone want to smack a tiny person who is completely reliant on you. It's an abusive and oppressive action.
