After school snacks - 7 yr old DS is never satisfied!

My DS 7 is constantly asking for snacks when we get home from school. It's just one after another. I seem to spend an hour after school just making snacks, if I dare try to sit down for a minute it's 'can I have another snack?'
He has school dinners & usually eats all of his tea. He just seems non-stop hungry.
My dd who is 3 always wants whatever he's having but this is very tricky as she then won't eat her tea so I have to say no to her & then she has a hissy fit!
Does anyone else find this with their 7 year old & how much/what snacks do you give?
Also do you just let them help themselves or do they have to get them from you only?
Thanks for any advice

Ds needs his evening meal pretty pronto when he gets home, he's 14!

Yes, I've had the same and was fucking sick of it. I felt like a slave.

So, I feed them their dinner when we get home and supper later, usually cereal or toast.

My DS doesn't get snacks during school days.
he's provided with breakfast and tea at home and given lunch and 2 snacks at school so is more than enough.
On school days off he is given meals as normal and a snack between 3 and 3.30

He's would eat loads if allowed and he is in the 9th percentile for height and weight but in no way fat but I don't want to be over feeding him thus it's limited.

We do occasionally veer out of this when we've been doing something out of the ordinary and he's allowed drink as much as he wants although fizzy ones are again limited.

Once you've made a plateful, give free run of the fruit bowl.
