Just wrapped my children's gifts and put them in their stockings. 1st year of doing stockings.
What do people use to hang them from the fireplace . Mine won't stay on

We leave ours outside the bedroom door

No fire place here though

Screw in hooks behind the plinth that stay all year and can't be seen. (Big fireplace though.)
I wouldn't bother with the fireplace if it's one of those little ones, hang them on their bedposts on xmas eve?

I hand them empty from the fireplace using blue tack and heavy clock/ornaments.

But I never put presents in them till xmas eve and then they just sit on the hearth either side of the fireplace.

We have sticking hangers for empty ones before bed. Then when Father Christmas comes he leaves them on their beds all filled.

We've got brass hooks hanging from underneath the top bit of the fireplace (don't know the technical name sorry!)

Last year i had a fireplace and I ran a string along the back and hung one each end. Once filled went on bed.

I have one of these for each stocking. Nice and heavy, do the trick

the presents dont go in them until xmas eve. They get hung empty on the outside bedroom door handle and they get filled after the kids are asleep
