Help - DD not walking today what's wrong?!

She's been walking since she was 13 months she now 18 months but this morning she hasn't walked at all! Whenever I try to put her on her feet she just sort of falls to the floor and cries. I've moved her legs and feet around very gently and she didn't even murmur so they can't be hurting her to move them surely?! She is just dragging herself around the living room at the moment playing with her toys, she seems fine in herself apart from shes been quite snotty. I can't get a doctors appointment until tomorrow, do I need to take her to a&e?! Or is she just being a toddler and feeling lazy this morning, Anyone have any ideas starting to get a bit worried she's broken something!

If she's got a cold she's probably just feeling tired - let her be if she's fine in herself! It's like us refusing to get off the sofa when ill.

My ds has something called transient synovitis, after he had been ill. He suddenly stopped walking one day, he was about 3 years old. It is caused by a collection of fluid around the hip joint. It went away on its own, after about a week of not walking. It was probably caused by the virus. He did need to see a doctor and have a ultrasound to rule out anything more serious.

Hmmmm, have you done the waving a chocolate button at the other side of the room at her to try and tempt her?Wink I've done this a couple of times to reassure myself ds wasn't struck down with a dreadful paralysing condition over night!

My DS did this and they said it was just a virus in his hip (it was one leg), but the doc did see him immediately. I think you should go back to your GP, aren't they supposed to see all babies same day, and it is very worrying.

Thank you all for your responses, I ended up taking her to a&e as got very worried, was a virus in her hip they think which is related to nasty cold she has at the moment. They gave her some baby nurofen and she was walking around normally by the time she went to bed, although I can hear her coughing away in there now Sad rotten cold and teething all rolled into one!

The GP sent my ds to A&e when he had this. She may be walking around now, but we were advised that ds rested as much as possible. He couldn't walk for a week.
