suddenly feel crap at this...

My son is 11weeks and suddenly I feel like I'm not doing everything I should.

I don't keep track of anything Sad he sleeps when he sleeps he eats when he's hungry on demand however much he wants. He does have tummy time and the only formal routine we have is bed time it's a bath at 9pm followed by a bottle and then down to sleep, he's normally asleep by half ten and will sleep till 5am.

Should I be doing more, should we have more structure. I'm now worried I'm not doing everything I should.

is it normal to just sorta let them get on with whatever they want to do?? Sad.

Very normal, it's called being baby led, and it's lovely Smile

thanks,

I've recently started to question it as "friends of friends" have been practically running some sort of military routine with their babies, and keep telling me it, and when your the only one not doing it, you start to question yourself Sad.

I was always led to believe babies know what they want, and they will let you know when they want something.

Don't look at what others are doing. All children are different and only you know what your baby needs, and it sounds like you're doing brilliantly :)

Stop doubting yourself. If your baby is happy and content then what you are doing is fine

Sounds like you're doing everything right to me...well done!

thanks all, I'm normally not a worried or a anxious person but think the one is playing a big part of it.

and yes I'm amazed at his sleeping!! but both me and dad were good sleepers as babies so perhaps it's a genetic predisposition, who knows.

Some people prefer to have dc in a routine, I am one of them (more because I have 6 and need to keep track of everything) but that doesn't mean there is anything wrong with being baby led. As long as you and baby are happy and healthy it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.

Don't worry, my little girl is only 12 weeks and we are only now getting into some sort of routine and only because she has got herself into one, I've not done anything to encourage it! You're doing fine!
