If you had 1.5 hours to yourself over a Saturday lunchtime, how would you spend it?

Dh is taking dc out to see a friend :)

It's been a tough week, I'm so excited to have some me-time and desperately don't want to waste it!

Personally, I'd spend ages wandering around a bookshop, then buy one book and go and sit in a coffee shop with a drink and a cake and start reading.

If no bookshop handy, I'd just do the last bit.

Are you seeing the theme here...? Grin

Either as Nigel says ir a trip to the beauticians or hairdressers, followed by by coffee and cake

Possibly sleep.

More likely lunch and a paper.

Sleep Grin

Actually, I'd probably go and get a decent haircut, not a £10, 10 minute job from the local cheap place...

All the above sound lovely but I would get some nice lunch, eat and then nap in bed.

I so wish I could do this

I often go for a swim on a Saturday lunchtime when DS naps. It's lovely though chaos when I return as he has usually just woken up and I still have hair to dry etc.

Mid-day, steamin hot bath with good music and a good book and plenty of pamepring products.
Absolutely self-indulgent chill time :-)

I'd go for a run, personally. Then nice long bath. Feeling wishful now...

Is it sad that we're all fantasising about a single 1.5 he slot of time to ourselves?

What did you do OP?

Report
cupcake78 · 30/03/2014 04:25

Uninterrupted bath. Nice lunch that I could eat at my own pace. Listen to silence!

Report
mumofboyo · 30/03/2014 09:55

A long, uninterrupted, luxurious (to me!) hot chocolate with a chocolate muffin (that I can eat all by myself and not have to share) in a coffee shop with free WiFi so I can read on my phone without being climbed or jumped on or screamed at.
Then I'd stroll around a few shops, perhaps even try some clothes on in the changing rooms without my 3 yr old declaring that I have a hairy bum Shock .

It's quiet sad tbh that you all seem to never have a free moment and wish for 90mins free time. If you have dh/ partner at home who isn't working on a sat it sounds awful.

I know that if I wanted to do something alone/ meet friends/ hair cut/ quiet shop I would just check dh isn't booked already and just go. 1hr/ 3hrs/ 6hrs whatever. And him the same. Dh is a parent also so does 50% parenting.
