Regaining your perspective: lovely things your dc say

So today I was unsuccessful at a job interview. Huge disappointment. Tears. Embarrassment. The lot.

When I got home 3.4yo DS looks at me and says: "Mummy, you're lovely. I like your new dress." I could burst with pride and love for him. The interview is now a distant memory.

Anyone else?

What a sweetie!

Ds asked me today what day it was. I said Friday. He said "yeah! Then it's Saturday, then Sunday which is mothers day!"

I said on mothers day we're going to granny's. At which point he frowned and I explained that we were going because granny was daddy's mummy. He looked at me and said "but you're my mummy?!"

I love how he thought that and was adamant it should be spent with me.

He's 4 and adorable!

So cute! I wonder how long we'll remain so special in their eyes. Hopefully always!

My ds (7) was in the room when I was looking at wedding dresses online with mil.
I exclaimed at the price of them and he turned to me and said "You can have the rest of my birthday money if you like mummy"

Not my own DC but I got sacked last week - friend and her DS (2.6) came straight round and as soon as I opened the door he shouted YOU'RE THE BEST, YOU'RE THE BEST!!!! Bless him - this may or may not have involved a bit of coaching on the walk over, but it cheered me up no end Grin
