We think it's teething related because of all the drool and chewing fists and screams in the night (had these intermittently for weeks but a lot more intense the last few days and screamed the house down between 4am and 6am today). Since Saturday he has only had about half his usual milk (is a chubster@ 97th centile- usually has over a litre of formula a day) but was fine with solids. Yesterday had solids fine but had two massive sicks (v. Uncharacteristic) and it all came back up. Today has only had about 100ml total formula after a lot of persistence by me. Also had a few spoonfuls of fruit puree after coaxing (mouth otherwise clamped shut). The thing is when not in pain (at night only) he seems bright eyed and bushy tailed as usual, maybe ever so slightly subdued. Essentially he doesn't want to eat or drink anything at all, has had a bit only because of my powers of persuasion.
Given that he currently looks well am going to wait till tomorrow before calling gp but in the meantime can someone reassure me that babies have phases like this?? He's otherwise eaten like a train since the day he was born, I failed to ebf because he was so greedy (at least he clearly has some reserves).
Thanks

Sounds like my DS (also 7 months) last week.

My guess would be stomach bug (on day 1 of food refusal my DS didn't look well and also vomited a bit). He eventually stated eating again normal amounts three days later.

So I wouldn't be too worried, unless it lasts!

Ooh ok. The last couple of poos he did yesterday were a bit funny which would give some strength to that argument.
