Hands up who never sits down all day!

Me!

I've only realised the times I actually stop and sit are when I'm driving, helping ds with his homework, on the toilet, sometimes feeding baby or asleep/doing night feeds. In fact night feeds are my downtimeShock.

It dawned on me today that I eat while doing things. Feed baby while walking about, putting stuff away, waiting at school for ds or making phone calls.

My DF asked me today if I ever stop. Said he didn't realise my life was so hectic. Maybe its partly due to me dragging him to baby clinic on the way to collect ds from school Grin. He got a bit of a culture shock. Said Dd was going to be a nomad at this rate.

I'm typing this standing in the kitchen waiting for the kettle to boil to make bottles. The house is still a tip. Washing basket is always full and we never have enough bread, milk or food to satisfy.

Anyone else never stop.

4 days a week I'm run ragged (mum of 2 & childminder of 4-6 children age 1-9) so on my day off sometimes I do literally sit on my arse all day Grin

My dad thought I had a lovely easy life being a sahm, then he came to stay for a few days and we wore him out. The words "blimey you never sit down" were used. Don't think he will be back in a hurry. I did remind him that he had 4 of us but he did point out that clearly he had the easy job of going to work!!!

Me too. Ds2 is a mischief! When I'm not running round after him I'm shopping, cleaning, cooking, school run, atwwork.
I mumsnet while I'm doing other stuff, or waiting for stuff.
I've only been like this since the arrival of ds2 though, ds1 was a doddle.

Yep. Currently on maternity leave and I will be going back to work for a break at this rate. And I only have two!

If I could afford a cleaner I'd hire one just to keep on top of things.

I've just gone back to work as a teacher (part time), and get much more sitting down time (but not 'down time!') than I did at home with DCs. Mine are 1 and 4. I still don't get time for a coffee though!

Night feeds are my time too. Still loathe to give them up!

I miss feeds nw as it was my excuse to sit back and watch tv. Now i have a bundle of recorded programmes I never get the chance to watch except when standing up ironing! I am always running around ragged or walking the dog or mowing the lawn etc. DH has chronic back pain so can't do anything much to help out so as well as working part time I am Mum to a 15 mo DS and 2 year old loopy labrador.
