In limbo waiting for phone call.

Last day of half term. Had "the" phonecall this morning from friend going into labour, so unexpectedly got her ds until the grandparents get here.

My ds1 is in a sulk because our plans have gone out the window, so lovely atmosphere here for the poor kid!

I'm on tenterhooks waiting for grandparents to phone (they don't know directions to my house, I hate giving directions, argh!) and waiting for friend's hubby to sms any news.

It's so exciting, but I hate this limbo!

Oh someone sympathise with me you miserable bastards

psychomum5 Fri 02-Jun-06 11:01:25

sending sympathy

Securlurking Fri 02-Jun-06 11:02:39

Sympathise - lol!

I usually print and post a multimap instead of giving directions - then it is their own fault if they get lost, might not be practical here though

psychomum5 Fri 02-Jun-06 11:03:35

can you bribe your DS out of sulk at all by saying that plan aren't cancelled just postponed for a short while???

and then get them doing some exciting arty something to give to the new baby???

GeorginaA Fri 02-Jun-06 11:06:41

Tee hee that's better

Friend's ds is much younger - about 20 months I think? So don't fancy doing the arty thing!! We have TV on and every toy out - ds1 is contained watching the telly

GeorginaA Fri 02-Jun-06 11:07:05

I just want to know if the baby has arrived yet!!! Gawd, I'm so impatient...

psychomum5 Fri 02-Jun-06 11:08:24

you must be bouncing...i would be

GeorginaA Fri 02-Jun-06 11:11:05

Damnit, I need to know what colour clothes to buy the newborn this afternoon

Securlurking Fri 02-Jun-06 11:12:06

I would be too, I love the whole limbo thing - that anticipation, quiet terror and fear along with almost uncontrolable excitement - it is like a drug. Having said that once the waiting is over I usually lose interest pretty fast - the only situations where that hasn't happened has been with my own kids lol, they managed to hold my interest for a while

psychomum5 Fri 02-Jun-06 11:14:06

oooh....baby clothes shopping. how exciting. altho not so with bored kiddies in tow

GeorginaA Fri 02-Jun-06 11:14:47

IT'S A BOY!

psychomum5 Fri 02-Jun-06 11:15:04

GeorginaA Fri 02-Jun-06 11:18:26

Lol no not yet. They better not go straight to the hospital, lol...

Securlurking Fri 02-Jun-06 11:19:48

ooh dear, can you call them?

So DS1 could have his plans back on track after all?

GeorginaA Fri 02-Jun-06 11:23:25

Have promised him we're going to mcdonalds for lunch to make up for the delay - he's perked up (oh god, what have I done - mcdonalds in half term is going to be HELL!)

Friend has been saying for months she thinks it was going to be a girl, hahahaha

Securlurking Fri 02-Jun-06 11:24:38

Ooh a boy - so any details? (size etc?)

GeorginaA Fri 02-Jun-06 11:28:00

Securlurking Fri 02-Jun-06 11:30:35

name but no weight - you have forgotton your priorities girl - you need the weight as that is about all you can divulge on MN - get our details first - then other bits like names
