Moving house and new baby: Help my baby cope

So for some insane reason we're doing both of these things within about two weeks of each other.

Not terribly well planned but we saw the house we wanted and well baby's gonna come when baby's ready.

So I'm not sure what I can do to make this easier on myself and my DD. We'll have about six weeks to pack and prepare, hopefully moving the end of June. My due date is mid July and I'm hoping to have a home birth.

Writing all this down makes me realise how insane this sounds. Tips, advice, words of reassurance would all be appreciated.

I feel your pain! We had new baby and then moved house, country and contintent. Do you have family nearby who can help out? The baby obviously wasn't fussed as long as she had a warm body to sleep on, but the toddler was relived to have access to GPs, aunties etc who could take him out to burn off energy.

Most of all, I'd say take it easy on yourself. I am a real perfectionist (read 'pain in the arse') but everything went more smoothly when I just gave in and went with the flow.

All I can say is make sure that the first job you do is make up the toddler's bed, so its all ready for bedtime

Yep, I too am a bit of a perfectionist and want everything sorted out before baby number two arrives. I think if i could accept this was an impossibility it might be easier.

Perfectionism combined with nesting instinct is a crazy combination.

I moved house on the Friday and baby girl was born on the Saturday we was home on Sunday. Was crazy but had lots of family to help.
