18 month old getting out of sleeping bag

That's it really. My 18month old DD has started unzipping and wriggling out of her sleeping bag/grow bag. After she has done this, she cries until we put her back in it. It's disrupting her nap and night time sleep a bit.

Has anyone else experienced this? Can you get bags which are harder to get out of?

Or is it time to move to actual sheets and duvets and stuff? Although I'd say she'd just kick those off.

She my first, so I'm a bit clueless really.

Have you tried putting it on backwards? DS went through a phase of doing this but gave up after a while. We introduced a blanket around then as we thought he needed something to keep him warm.

Lots of people move to a duvet/pillow in preparation for the move to a bed, but we haven't and DS is 23mo.

the grobag ones fasten down to the bottom and have a press stud to prevent them accessing the bottom of the zip

Do you mean put it on so the zip is at the back, rather than the front? Genius! I didn't think of that.

What happened when you used a blanket? Did it stay put? What sort of blanket was it? One of those "holey" ones you use for very little babies?

Sorry, lots of very silly questions! thanks for the quick reply.

put it on backwards. DD (Dc2) is 17 months old and just worked out how to get out of her sleeping bag. i'm doing backwards until weather is a bit warmer, then moving to duvet.

Ours is just a small knitted blanket. DS really likes it and pulls it up over himself. It is only about 2ft square.

Big nappy pin!

Safety pins! Until she worked out how to get them off (but was quite a bit older than 18 months).
