Help with my 6mo routine???

My 6mo DS is now weaning. He is enjoying it but just has breakfast at the moment. I think he is ready for a 2nd meal but I am confused as to how to incorporate it all into his routine. Feel like I am going to be constantly feeding him one way or another!!!

This is his routine at the moment:

8:00 morning 9oz bottle
9:00 breakfast (porridge or fruit)
12:00 9oz bottle
16:00 9oz bottle
19:30 bedtime 9oz bottle

Can someone give me an example of the best way to sort his day out with mealtimes too?

There is every chance I am over complicating this in my head as have just read annabel karmel and confused myself so feel free to tell me if 'im being dense!!

Hi, how have you found his breakfast had effected his intake of his bottles or his sleep?

I would say to definitely take is slow. From personal experience with my youngest he took to solids very well but cut down on bottles too quick and it had a negative effect on sleep Confused.

You could maybe offer some solids after the bottle at 12 or 4 with a view to turning it into lunch or tea. I would be tempted to offer it after 12 bottle next. If you start with offering it at 4pm it might mean he would take less bottle at 19.30 and not sleep so well.

How does he manage from 12- 4 at the moment with only bottle feeds ? If he shows signs of hunger then maybe a little purée veg and maybe try some finger foods eg some banana to munch on.

Hope that helps. Just go with what you think is best Smile

That should have said purée veg.

I have a few of the annabel karmel books and found the timings didnt really fit in with my 2 so I mainly just used the recipes.

It hasn't affected his bottle feeds in the morning :) I will try a lunch time meal then.
