DS has never been one for a cuddle because he hates to sleep and seems to have linked cuddles to the dreaded sleep in his mind but a few weeeks ago he started to roll into me for a cuddle in the morning and today he crawled up and sat on my knee cuddled up watching telly for 10 mins!

I am so happy i was starting to think there was something wrong with him even though i knew there wasn't really. Seeing my friends babies cuddling them made me really sad :( I can't tell anyone in RL how happy i am because i've always said it doesn't bother me it's just how he is but i honestly feel like dancing Grin

Aww, that's lovely for you Smile. I hope he will come to love cuddles and want more of them.

My least cuddly baby/toddler is now almost 9 and huge and now want to sit on my lap/have me cuddle him to sleep in his bed/gives hugs that (literally!) take my breath away. It was a long time coming.

Enjoy!!

How old is your DS? Mine's not one for cuddles either. He used to cry to be put down! Last night he was teething & upset but refused to let me cuddle him for comfort! Sad He's 13 months now so I'm still hoping he'll go through a clingier phase!

He's 10mo. I've heard of a few babies that are just independant and don't like cuddles they all seem to grow out of it i hope yours does soon too. TBH todays cuddle was him just sitting on my knee with my arms round him to i'm sure other people wouldn't count it as a proper snuggly cuddle but for DS it was amazing. I just figure he's secure enough that he doesn't need physical reassurance from me but now he's older i'm hoping he will find enjoyment in being close.

DD has only just started wanting cuddles aged 18mo. As you say, it's lovely when it finally happens!

Take it as a sign that he feels happy and secure. Well, that's what I kept telling myself! My 3 dc really did not like cuddles. I found that once they could get away from me, by choice, that's when they became more cuddly. DS2 is now 5 months and starting to crawl so I'm really hoping for unforced cuddles any day now! Smile

Enjoy the lovely cuddles!

That's lovely Smile

Just wait until he cuddles you to make you feel better and says 'love you'... it just keeps on getting better Grin DS is 2.
