hi, I'm a mother of three ages 10 yrs old, 3yrs and 2yrs. I have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis of the spine. Life has become unbearable. At times I have considered taking my life. I feel like a useless and helpless. No one help me with my conditions. I have been asking around to whom will help, but i'm scared incase the social workers take my kids off me.

Social workers are not going to take your kids way from you over a medical condition but they may be able to offer some respite time if you all need it. You clearly need some support if you have had suicidal feelings. If, god forbid, you did go through with these feelings then your children WOULD be going into care - please talk to your HV and get some support.

Hi

Are you getting support/help from the NHS.

What about "pain management"? The National Centre for Rheumatic Diseases is just down the road from me and people get referred there for all over the UK (the wife of a friend of ours was) - www.rnhrd.nhs.uk/

Doesn't help with your kids, but maybe they can help with your condition.

Agree you need to speak to your GP about pain management and also how you are feeling, and no, you won't get your children taken from you if you go to the GP and say you have suicidal feelings. I know because I've done it. Your GP should be able to offer you some CBT which I can recommend.

Also, get in touch with your local home start and ask your HV what support there is locally for young helpers.
