Crap at crafts - give me ideas for 2yo

DD 2.1 loves messy crafts at nursery and she bursts with excitement when I get the paints out at home and is always doodling etc. But I'm a bit rubbish at that stuff and not very creative so never really think to get it out.

Any ideas of things I can do with her? Someone i know on Facebook recently mentioned lentils and 2yo crafts and it got me thinking that I need to do a bit more of this stuff with her. Was different with DS as he was at nursery more as I worked in an office (freelance now) so left tgst to nursery and did other stuff with him. so I don't even have a back catalogue of ideas to try with her!

All ideas gratefully received!

I have an account on Pinterest but never use it. Do I just search for toddler crafts? Is it that simple? Smile

Whoops, double post should be crafting with 21 month old, not playing on MN.
Yes, search toddler craft. Or toddler ideas. Or SAHM ideas. Some are better than others :D
How about cooking if not painting? Rice crispie cakes are nice and messy, and you get to eat them too.

We do lots of cooking at least which she loves. But yes, think a batch of choc rice crispie cakes is long overdue! Grin

Forgive the hijack, would pinterest be good for older kids?
I have a 10 year old who wants to do craft stuff, but I am rubbish at that kind of stuff.

Or various companies do craft boxes, delivered to your door, with ideas and all the materials. Google 'craft box subscriptions' :) Bit pricey but you could point grandparents etc as a Christmas present? :)

Would just like to report we did 2 crafty things yesterday (as proud of myself as DD is of herself!) - painting then sprinkling salt on watery paint to make patterns. She liked sprinkling salt everywhere! And then when DS was home from school they did collages with lentils, pasta, rice, beans etc. Fun, and not as messy as I'd feared - they enjoyed hoovering the lentils of the floor afterwards!
