Newborns out in Winter months

My first was born in August and was outside on walks and going to the shops as soon as we got home. However our second is due October 29th and our daughter will be attending nursery ofcourse. I don't have a car and the town service bus is a bit pricey for a short walk to the school so will baby be ok in the pram with a snowsuit, blankets, raincover and pram apron while we walk up?

Probably being overcautious but I keep reading that some people don't take their newborns out until 6 weeks old due to their immune system not being great yet. Seems a little crazy to wait that long or am I the mental one? I think baby should be ok but what do you all think?

Stop worrying! Your baby will be fine wrapped up well.

DS was born in November and there was snow for the first 2 months - we went out most days and he was fine. Lots of layers so if he starts looking too hot you can take one off...

Life has to go on.... Dd2 born in November and we were pretty much out and about immediately. Anybody clearly unwell or with a cold sore must stay away though!

DD born December 2 1/2 years ago. Remember the snow?!
I was anxious at first as it was cold and slippery but given the right number of layers they are fine.
(DS was a summer babe. Got a pram for DD as I felt it would keep out the wind)

I had an October baby after 2 summer ones and was also a bit worried about it! But she was fine. I found the sling really handy as as well as being convenient it also kept her nice and cosy.

There's no getting away from the fact it does make things slightly harder though, impromptu walks around town weren't nearly so attractive, and getting a little baby into a coat is definitely more of a challenge. But nothing too insurmountable!

My son was born in February this year - we had snow 2 days later. He was out and about by 2 weeks in a pram suit and blanket. I'm sure your lo will be fine.
