Hi I'm due to give birth to my 2nd child soon and I already have a 3yr old light sleeper I just wondered if anyone had tips on keeping the 3yr old asleep whilst newborn screams in night? Any advice would be much appreciate :)

IME... When DS2 came along I was totaly paranoid about baby waking toddler (19 mo) and used to be quick to try and settle baby and probably caused him to be a bot rubbish at getting himself back to sleep One night it did happen and it wasnt so bad.
With the arrival of DD (others were 3.5 and 2 ish) I just didnt give it a second thought and let her grizzle a bit, basically didnt jump to pick her up at the first sound. She's nearky 7 months and never woken them up.
Try not to worry to much. It will probably be fine. Smile

My 7mo has never woken my 2.5yo and I leave her to cry grizzle sometimes. They don't share a room but are right next door to each other. DD1 is seemingly oblivious to the baby's cries- I worry more about the DD1 waking the baby!

DD (4m) does wake up DS (2) occasionally but so long as its not within half an hour of his normal waking time he will go back to sleep ok. If it anytime from about 5.30 on though we're all in for an early start but there really isn't a great deal you can do about it.
