Tips for keeping new baby safe from older brother's small toys

Dd is nearly 6 months old and on the move. Ds is 3 and has lots of little toys. He's been told to be careful and we are being careful about tidying things away but I am really scared of missing something.

If you had 2 or more then how did you keep the younger one safe? Any tips?

I had a big clear out and moved all little toys into ds1's bedroom out of reach of ds2. Just leave the big toys out for them both to play with. Maybe not very fair on ds1, but not worth risking them choking on something

I had a big wooden playpen, not for DD, but for DS to keep all his lego & other small toys in to keep them away from DD. Though we did have to put a panel across the bottom on two sides (it was in a corner) so DD couldn't reach in.

Thanks, I've just got the travel cot down from the attic and am putting things in ds's room.
