Nappy sizes? How long where you in size 1 and 2?

Hello, I'm starting to stock up on nappies, as i've been sent lots of vouchers from various supermarkets that i want to use before they expire.

But i'm failing to figure out how many of each size i will need. I heard that newborns need 10 changes a day, but how long is the average baby in size 1, size 2 and size 3?

do i only need a couple of packs of size one - or will they be in them for a couple of months.

I know every baby is different, but i just dont want to end up with hundreds of tiny nappies i cant use.

Thank you :)

We only used size 1 for a few weeks so I wouldn't get many of those at this stage.

get bigger then if u have to buy more 1 or 2 when lo is here they're cheaper than the bigger sizes anyway. it's not just about the size/weight of lo either, some babies pee more than others and saturate a smaller size. hth

I'd get one pack of size 1 - DD outgrew them in four days but DS was in them for a week or so and better too big than too small. But then they did grow fast (DS actually split his skin).

I seem to remember being in the size 3's for quite a while with all of my kids. The ones and two's were outgrown pretty quickly.

Yep I agree, you will probably need more of the size 3s because they seem to last a while

About 8 weeks in size 1 then about 6 weeks in size 2 for my DD. We could have probably used size 2 from the start though as DD was just about within the weight range.

Size 1 - a couple of weeks
Size 2 - maybe a month
Size 3 - months and months and months!!

It's not the size that matters, it's the absorbency. If you have a big stock of small leaky nappies you can always use value sanitary towels as an insert to help them absorb a bit more.

"Size 1 - a couple of weeks

Size 3 - months and months and months!!"

Now, I wish they printed that on the back of the packaging. :)

Also ignore the weights they say on the packets. I stocked up on a few packs of size 1's as they went up to 10Ib (i think) and when my son was about 8Ib they gave him a rash on his tummy as they were abit tight.
