Ok. I saw the HV the other day for my daughters 12 mth review. She said that I should wean my daughter off of bottles and onto a sippy cup for her milk. Has anyone got any idea what type of cup she was on about? She said one without a spout.

I think she meant one without a non spill valve which are considered bad for teeth. Heinz do one which is stocked by Tesco's, among others. It's just a cup with a free flowing spout a bit like a watering can but also has a thing you can put in to reduce flow. That means that it will spill if upended. The valve ones require a lot of sucking to drink from and are said to place pressure on the front teeth. Or, if you use Avent bottles, they do sippy cup tops to fit the bottles. She will take a while to make the transition but will get it sooner or later.

DD1 still had a bottle at bedtime til about 20 months, so don't stress too much about getting rid of it right away. When we ditched the bottles we got her one of these for her milk, she loved it and didn't ask for her bottle again.
