My dh used the cot this morning twice as a "holding" pen - instead of a naughty seat etc - I wasn't in......now ds (18 mnths) has refused his morning nap and is v v v upset when entering the bedroom ........we won't do it again - but any ideas. Previosuly ds was a super sleeper ...7pm til 6am self settling and super happy ;-(

How was DS last night? What was the context of putting DS in his cot yesterday? IMO 18 months is too young for them to understand 'punishment' - you can't use a naughty seat or similar at that age because they don't understand, so unless he was left in the cot screaming or was shouted at while in it then it may just be coincidence that he didn't want his morning nap (18m is about the right age to drop it anyway).
