Leaving a buggy outside to avoid steps?

Could this be unhealthy? Its there, rain or shine. I can see why they do it, they have two floors to get up - But surely the thing is going mouldy? We thought it had been dumped at first but I saw her getting her baby out of it the other day.

Could there be any other health problems from doing this? (Im thinking when Im faced with carrying the buggy up those stairs, will I resort to such tactics)

Maybe she just can't be arsed? I wouldn't do it personally, because I wouldn't like it getting wet or possibly stolen, but there's a house on our road, a bungalow in fact, where the woman does the same thing. MAaybe she doesn't want the wheels messing up her carpet, who knows.

I used to do this because there was no where to put the damned thing. It never got stolen, or wet as I left the rain cover on, or went mouldy.

People used to do this in the block I lived in. Although it was undercover. I never did (even though I lived on the top floor so had to lug it up 4 flights of stairs) as I was worried about it getting nicked (as if! I had a £45 graco which would have been alongside a £300 silvercross).

She doesnt cover hers, but its locked away. If theres no mould/spider issues and its covered, its not a bad idea really is it? Our flats little so it could be a consideration!

Just wonder if it'd be better for me to leave it in the car folded? Would THAT much time be saved from folding and unfolding?

Mammie I have have loads of steps too and its a right pain, so I leave it in the car boot permanently. When I get home after a walk to park etc I get DC out of buggy and into the car to contain them whilst I fold buggy into the boot, then I carry the DC into the house. Its the only way for me really.

I dream of a lovely big house with a nice flat path up to it, with a lovely wide entrance hall to push buggy into and maybe a utility room to store it in when not in use, but that is never going to happen!!

I live two floors up with three DC and usually leave buggy downstairs in the stairwell - as does everyone else.

It's fine. No mould, no spiders. Lots of raisins, crumbs and cheese strings packets in it though

i am going to leave my double in the back garden under shelter. cos it wont fit through my doors, and is too big to store folded inside..

I keep my double folded in the car as it won't go in the house. Occasionally put it in the house folded but is too bulky really.

I daren't leave mine outside for more than a minute. It's a mad dash to get DD in, and then get pushchair in afterwards. Heard too many stories of them being stolen, and really can't afford to replace it just so some nasty kids can go skidding it around a park somewhere.

But I live in a pretty horrible area.

I think my biggest concern with leaving it outside would be all the bugs that could climb into it. But I'm one of those people that checks under the covers and shakes all my clothes to death before I put them on, as the idea of having an insect crawling around on me makes me shudder.
