although he's only 3 months, ds can already reach out and take hold of things if we hold them out to him. now it seems he's started doing it with things that are just near him... wish I hadn't had to find out this way though... somehow I must have left a tissue within his reach, anyway, I turned my back for 30 seconds and there he was putting it into his mouth and sucking on it. after getting it away from him I examined it and I can see a couple of little bits missing at the edges... he's now on the boob and seems fine - but will it hurt him if any of it has got into him? Feel like a crap and careless mum!

I think he will be OK, actually when I openned the thread I thought you would be concerned because the tissue was not clean . This beggining of a long journey with very interesting episodes as with our DS who's been found eating the dog's biscuits or even exploring the toilett brush

Yes, actually my DS loved to lick pictures of fruits, which was a bit strange as he hated the actual fruit... Children!

lmao at last two posts...eating pictures! hahaha
i wouldn't worry..apparantly people with eating disorders often eat whole boxes of tissues in order to feel full so i'm sure no harm will be done

thanks
the cleanliness of the tissue wasn't really an issue, as I'd only used it to wipe off some baby sick

dd2 did this when she was about 4 months. I didn't know until I started changing her nappy and saw a white piece of paper sticking out of her bum! I very gently pulled and the rest of the tissue appeared.

Berolina my DS coughed up some paper mache the other week - he'd eaten the tag on my car keys from the garage that I'd not noticed. Just the other day, he rolled over to the dog in the time it took me to get a glass of water from the kitchen and was using his prostrated back leg as a teething ring

DP has hair down to his waist - I found the very end of one of his hairs hanging out of DS's mouth earlier - imagine the sight as I pulled it out!!

I am finding that I am developing eagle eyes for anything that is likely to go in his mouth - and in all honesty, that is anything he can get his hands on!!!

You're absolutely not a bad mummy!!!
