Those of you that have followed my house buying/selling nightmare will know the story but basically we were let down by one buyer the second one has stalled us meanwhile due to the Scottish system because we did not complete buying our house we have been liable for daily fines.

Anyway we came up with a solution that we would get a loan and buy the Scottish house thereby ending the fines, which are currently standing at £3500 (for 3 and a half months) this is on top of all the usual and additional legal fees. DP applied for an employee loan from his work (he works for a bank) and it was approved over the phone, then we got the paperwork in and signed it and sent it away on Saturday, DP chased it this morning and they have said the underwriters have declined it.

We are all living (me, DP, DD whos one and 3 cats) in my Dads 1 bed flat which is basically 2 small rooms and a toilet. It's not that nice and stinks of dampness and stale smoke (and I have scrubbed it) we have to pay rent on this place as well. As it's not close to DP's work he is travelling for over 2 hours there and back and it's killing him timewise and financially. Oh and I'm 18 weeks pregnant.

We thought this loan was approved and we could move into our new house next weekend but now we can't. I hate living here and I think I'm going to crack up if I have to spend anymore time here living out of boxes.

SK - SOMETHING good has to happen to you soon.
Did they say why the underwriters declined it?

it's just the thought of spending another day in this hellhole house, I don't even want to get up in the morning if it wasn't for DD.
