why do messages get withdrawn, because just looked back at somthing i bought and all her messages have been withdrawn.

Nbg Wed 10-Aug-05 16:21:36

If someone has asked MN HQ for it to be deleted or if MN have deleted it.

starlover Wed 10-Aug-05 16:22:18

oh who was it?

usually happens if someone doesn't abide by the talk policy on here and has been abusive/offensive and been banned or something.
alternately she may have asked them to be withdrawn...

Sometimes people think that they can be identified by the content of their messages, so they ask for them to be withdrawn. One poster was actually named and her location revealed by someone else, so she had all of her posts withdrawn (she's back now though).

WigWamBam Wed 10-Aug-05 16:24:37

If someone hasn't abided by the rules and their messages are deleted, it generally says "Message Deleted". "Message Withdrawn" is usually when it's done at the request of the poster. At least, that's what seems to happen.

It was the for sale one wasn't it Trace?

starlover Wed 10-Aug-05 16:25:18

oooh i hadn't noticed that wwb!

yes... must have been a request then!

trace2 Wed 10-Aug-05 16:25:55

it just seen a bit funny,

Nbg Wed 10-Aug-05 16:26:53

Well if the message was withdrawn on the for sale it's maybe because she's sold all the items.

starlover Wed 10-Aug-05 16:27:59

it could be as simple as someone in real life found out her name and she didn't want them finding other stuff by her?

trace2 Wed 10-Aug-05 16:29:09

yes its for a sale, just hope i can get money back

Nbg Wed 10-Aug-05 16:30:37

Oh dear.

Why don't you CAT the person and start a thread with her name on.

starlover Wed 10-Aug-05 16:30:58

oh did you pay but she hasn't sent you the stuff?

starlover Wed 10-Aug-05 16:31:59

if you search archives for her name a thread comes up and her e-mail address is in it...

trace2 Wed 10-Aug-05 16:33:16

not yet, e-mailed me this morning said i could have money back, so will give her chance, just was worried when message withdrawn,

WigWamBam Wed 10-Aug-05 16:33:42

Isn't that the poster who got upset when someone asked why the pushchair they'd bought from her hadn't arrived? She'd posted it but not when she said she had, and she got a bit stroppy when the person she'd sold the pushchair to wanted to know what had happened to it.

Sounds as if she's taken a huff. Do you have her email address so that you can chase her up?

WigWamBam Wed 10-Aug-05 16:34:20

Crossed posts ...

trace2 Wed 10-Aug-05 16:36:34

dont want to bad mouth her for nothing, and no not recived the items but th e posting costing more than expected so i should get money back, also got her address when sent cheque

trace2 Wed 10-Aug-05 16:38:21
