And that's being polite about it!

My dbil was stranded in Burundi with the truck and crew after going to deliver cargo there. No money, no fuel, no food and no return cargo thanks to other bil who sent them there and now claims he has not one penny to help get them back home!!!! We sent them every penny we had, so we had no money since Monday either! They FINALLY made it to Rwanda after police escort thru Burundi!! then ran out of fuel again! Passing trucker helped them and they made it to the other border, where they had no money to pay the border fee into Uganda so dbil had to turn back and sell his mobile phone! They cross over and make their way to Kampala to pick up cargo that my dh had managed to arrange - only to RUN OUT OF FUEL AGAIN 20 miles from Kampala!!! 3 men stranded there overnight with no food, meanwhile my dh has run up a TERRIFYING phone bill on international calls this week trying to sort everything out and find people to help! I am literally too scared to enquire! Back in Kampala the cargo that my dh had managed to secure is loaded into someone else's truck because dbil hasn't turned up (stuck 20 miles away with no fuel as I said!!) Finally get them some money and they get into Kampala, only to find they've declared a national holiday in Uganda and they probably won't get cargo at a price that will get them a deposit (fuel and foodwise) to take them to Mombassa now until Monday!

Meanwhile we've had no money, no fuel and practically no food ourselves cos we had to give everything to dbil and I couldn't do my weekly shop! my kids have spent the last 2 days with ricecakes with jam on for breakfast and tea, and potatoes for lunch with me & dh on plain pasta! and the same tomorrow ARRGGHHHHH - one thing we have got is the leftover booze from dh birthday party the other week - so me and dh have been drowning our sorrows every ruddy evening!!!!

Oh, but this is a moan and an 'oh my god would you believe this its a damn farce', and nothing for anyone to get worried about cos I get cash on Monday so everything is fine, just a grim week which I am bloody glad is nearly over - in case anyone was thinking these people are going to starve or anything!!!!!!!!!!!!

So get ready Morrisons cos when I get up on Monday morning I am STRAIGHT down there and heaven help anyone who gets in my way!!!!!!!!!

What a bloody god damn rotten week. I am soooooooo glad the end is nigh!!!

ta! Well, much more awful for my dbil, obviously - being out there! I feel awful for him, he's had a crappy time. For us its been stress and hassle and, well, as described below!!!! (or above, depending on if you're a flipper or not!)

OMG - is this what your dh normally does? Don't think I fancy being stuck in Africa with no money - well or even this country! Big hugs!

Ta again! well they made it to Kampala, now they cant get cargo till Monday! So they will set off for Kenya then - assuming they don't have to hang around for the paperwork!!

Crazzybabs - it is now, dh has taken over - but the truck was not supposed to be stranded in Burundi at the time and it wasn't supposed to be our responsibility to get it, dbil and the crew home! But we got dropped in the crappola!

Still, fingers crossed it is coming together now. but oh dear god what a farce!
