Niffy sponges?

I do all the right things - wring them out, rinse them, leave them with air circulating around them - but dds still have niffy sponges. A bit like that smell when you put a telescopic umbrella away when it's still wet.

I've just soaked them all in Milton - and they've all changed colour. Lovely, autumnal colours - but the girls won't like them.

What am I doing wrong?

Use flannels instead?

(You can chuck them in the wash whenever you like. I always think sponges are a bit soft!)

Buy 19p sponges from Wilko & chuck them when they go grey !

Sponges do whiff, but you can stick them in the washing machine and they'll come out OK.

I did say it was horribly ungrammatical and I cringed as I wrote it ... but I couldn't think of a better way of wording it without going on for half a page. And you know what I meant
