Do any of you guys know what kind of benefits I should be getting?... I'm 18, had Theo at 16... left school at 12 (ahem ) I'm pregnant with my second... DH earns about 22k... at the moment I just get child benefit, I have a feeling I'm owed something else? Oh I've never ever had a job

Just to add to my patheticness I can't bring myself to go to the benefits office... official type people/places scare me

or have a surf - there are a few websites that you can do online forms and they'll tell you at the end what you are due.

You need to apply for tax credits.

Ring 0845 300 3900 and ask them - it's the Inland Revenue number at the top of my tax credit form.

I think the only other thing you could claim is Child Tax credits.

Helpline 8am - 8pm Tel: 0845 3003900

If you didn't get round to going back to work after a first child, is there any maternity pay type thing you can claim for a second? I know there's the maternity grant, but I dont think our income is low enough, as dh is on about 22,500. We're not skint, but could really do with a hand for the odd bits and bobs that we dont have left over from the first time!
Sorry to butt in on this thread, but it is related, sort of!

If you are expecting a baby and have not worked for some time, cannot get Statutory Maternity Pay or Maternity Allowance, but have paid or been treated as having paid NI contributions:
check Incapacity Benefit

What's that about?!

you should be able to get one of the 3. have u ever worked? if not then ICF may be the best choice. phoine your local benefits people and ask for advice.
