For anyone feeling they would like to remember people suffering today, say thank you for the safety of their own family or have something else on their mind, I have just been pointed at this lovely site:

www.gratefulness.org/candles/candles.cfm

Have done one for my sister she chose to walk to work (45mins) from waterloo rather than catch the train this morning. She rang to say her office shook. She has reached home having walked most of the way.....

i've lit my candle i had the worst few hours of my life trying to get hold of my dad and dh. so much so that when i finally got a call from my dh to say he was ok and on his way home, after arriving at his desination 10 minutes after the bomb had gone of near it (tavistock square), if he had left for work on time this morning he would have been in tavistock square when the bus exploded. i burst into tears, i had never been so releieve to hear his voice.
my heart goes out to all the families andlives that have been affected by todays events.

Lighting a candle is very cathartic isn't it?

Spursmum, I too have a Son on the austistic spectrum. He's different and sometimes challenging, but just as lovely and rewarding person as my othr two children.

X

aww spurs mum and peachyclair, i'm sure your sons are so special and delightful.

I looked after an autistic 2.5 yr old when I was 16. He couldn't speak, wouldn't communicate physically with any adults or children and when other adults used to look at him like he was the naughtiest boy on earth, I used to feel so angry, but I saw him on the bus in his school uniform the other day 5 yrs later and he is now 7 yrs old and was talking just like any other boy to his mummy and daddy. I was so proud of how far he had come, I almost burst into tears! He's on very strong medication, but that doesn't interfere with his every day life.
