Should I stay or should I go....(rant)

Ok I work with this girl in the most offensive office I have EVER worked for....The girl in particular isn't very nice to me and we have had our ups and downs..... Everyone talks about her but is nice to her face in particulare the girl sitting opposite us....

Now the girl is getting married on saturday and me, the girl opposite and another girl have been invited (me probably because she invited the rest of our desk) Anyway I have brought her present, I have done her desk up and put £7 into the work fund.....

Anyway today is her last day and I asked if there were any plans to go down the pub and the girl opposite said yes but she wasn't telling everyone. Then the two proceeded to discuss where they were going with the other girl invited and just left me out of the conversation. Then as they got up and walked out they said to everyone that they were going down the pub.

I know it sounds like i'm being petty but in the past this girl has made my life hell and I know I was invited to her reception just cos she would look out of order having invited the rest of the desk.

Anyway I really feel like not bothering with her reception....I have brought her the present and will just say something came up....she wouldn't be bothered and would probably slag me off for something if I was there or not IYSWIM.

Gosh I cant wait to go on Maternity leave.

~shudder~ I hate work situations like that. Id not bother going if I were you. Whats te point in giving up your weekend if you arent goingto enjoy it. go out and have a good time with peope you want to be with.

Don't go. Why waste your time on someone you don't like. You have loads of perfect excuses given that you are pregnant!

I wouldn't go either!

I wouldn't go, I wouldn't even explain why either!

Life's too short to spend with people you don't like. You have the perfect excuse (if you feel you need one) - legs hurt, back hurt, feel a bit sick/weepy.

I'm glad you have agreed as I was feeling so petty about it all.....

TBH she is not a nice person although I would never say that to the other people I work with...the girls she talked about the pub who are also invited are in fact the worse culprits so im annoyed at them too......

She went to her BF wedding 2 weeks ago and said beforehand that she hoped it rained and laughed...thats the type of person she is.....well i hope she gets her comeuppance..

I wouldn't go. And depending on how I was still feeling I may or may not bother making up an excuse either.

In fact I might even say (if questionned) "sorry but I got the impression you didn't really want me there. Hope you had a lovely time liked the "

Nothing like a bit/lot of guilt

In fact don't go and tell her:

"I'm not attending because you are a superficial venomous bitch, and I loathe you "

Ha Ha! (sound of evil cackling)

LOL

I cant wait for my leaving speech...

One guy recently who left gave a leaving speech saying "Some of you have made my life hell and I am so glad that I never have to see your faces again"
He was talking about her and I was literally cringing as he was saying it but she seemed so oblivious to the fact he could be talking about her...

Wow - that is superb! Good on him. A shame she was oblivious though.

Perhaps in your speech, you could actually name her?? And the other members of her coven??
You could always just blame hormones!

I'm surprised you were ever considering going. Whenever I get invited to something like that I usually say a gracious thank you and say that there's something about that particular date that rings a bell, but I'll check my diary and would love to go if I can. That gives me time to make up some excuse and wriggle out of it.

Well she came back and ignored me for 1 hour and then asked if I would be getting a train up on Sat....I said wasn't sure as was having childcare difficulties and I needed to sort that out first (thinking if I didn't go I could use childcare as an excuse she knows the DP has been having problems with family and they are having DD) She then sat there telling the other girl how only family kids had been invited and anyone else had gone to the effort of getting childcare.....Trying to tell me something you think?????
Well that has put the nail in the coffin for me.

Thank God she is away for the next 2 and a half weeks....then i only have 21 1/2 weeks before maternity leave.....
