Hiya I have a coconut here and was just wondering how I can get inside it and get the juice out too?

starlover Tue 28-Jun-05 20:15:47

I'm sure Lakeland must do a wonderful coconut opener !!
Where are all our Lakeland experts !!

or use a corkscrew?

lou33 Tue 28-Jun-05 20:17:02

kncok a hole through using a screwdriver and a hammer, or drop it onto some concrete. Both work

Whizzz Tue 28-Jun-05 20:17:39

Oh please do be careful (I sound like my mother)! I'd be tempted to use a chisel technique myself ensuring that all parts of my anatomy are out of the way !

marne Tue 28-Jun-05 20:17:48

make a small hole in it with a screw driver or a electric drill then drain the milk out then smash the rest with a hammer!

LancashireLass Tue 28-Jun-05 20:17:51

Lo, are you serious with the screwdrivers or just having me on?

lou33 Tue 28-Jun-05 20:18:56

dunno about the others but thats how i do it

Milliways Tue 28-Jun-05 20:19:13

We use hammer & large nail - 2 holes req'd to let air out. Then smash it with a hammer to eat!

lou33 Tue 28-Jun-05 20:30:23

LancashireLass Tue 28-Jun-05 20:30:44

happymerryberries Tue 28-Jun-05 20:36:54

All the coconute I have seen have blackish, slightly indented marks on one end

Like on this one

lou33 Tue 28-Jun-05 20:37:57

unless of course you have a big green fresh one, in which case chop the top off, bung a straw in and drink the milk
