I hang my washing on my neighbours line so I feel bad if I leave it up too long, but I like it to stay there until it gets dry, which in scotland can take weeks!

moondog Fri 17-Jun-05 10:26:29

While on subject of washing, what do you do when you put your whites in normal wash and something causes them to dye? I normally just put them back in washing machine (the whites that is) and hope for the best. My mum used to boil them as far as i can remember. DH's white t-shirts have gone a little grey

Oh..and anyone else have socks and pants disappear ALL the time?

MarsLady Fri 17-Jun-05 17:18:15

try washing them in napisan. I tend to soak them in soda crystals first.

I am officially old, discussing the merits of washing indeed.......... lol

madmarchhare Fri 17-Jun-05 22:35:54

When my friend came home from hospital after having DD, her mother, who house is always full of people/relatives popping in and out, was soaking her big pants (the ones bought especially for after the birth) in a bucket in the kitchen for all to see.
